“What you are to be, you are now becoming.“

-Carl Rogers

Facing challenges with couples work, chronic trauma, or feeling stuck with a client’s progress? I’m here to help. I offer support to licensed therapists navigating difficult cases, uncovering unconscious reactions, and refining self-care practices. I also work with pre-licensed therapists employed in mental health settings, including hospitals, non-profits, and private practices. However, my practice is not structured to provide employment opportunities for those accruing hours.

I create a non-judgmental environment that celebrates each supervisee's unique strengths. My approach is collaborative—I value your expertise and knowledge as essential to our discussions. I’m passionate about helping emerging therapists clarify their therapeutic philosophy, explore preferred modalities, and develop strategies to prevent feeling stuck in cases. As a certified sex therapist, I bring an integrative approach to relational therapy and sexual narratives.

I offer remote supervision using the HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom (Business Associate Agreement).

As an AAMFT supervisor, my role is to deepen your skills in systems theory.

Systemic thinking forms the core of my identity as a marriage and family therapist and supervisor—we are all understood within the context of our relationships and systems, whether family dynamics, work relationships, or societal interactions. My goal is to help supervisees cultivate their own systemic perspective, enabling them to understand clients' distress and behavioral patterns in relational terms. Equally important is guiding supervisees to apply this systemic lens to self-reflection: examining how they are impacted by their clients and how they, in turn, influence their clients.

I meet supervisees where they are.

I use an approach called Person-of-the-Therapist (POTT) to support supervisees in building self-awareness around the influence of their own values, culture, and family-of-origin. Developing this self-awareness is more valuable than striving for perfection as a therapist. POTT allows therapists to work authentically with who they are. Any hesitance or personal challenges can become resources that enhance our ability to connect, assess, and intervene effectively. This approach fosters human-level connections with clients, embracing the idea that we are ‘wounded healers’ guiding others on their healing journey

This approach aligns with ethical practices:

  • By understanding personal influences, supervisees can identify and manage biases, ensuring they do not unconsciously let their own personal experiences unduly shape the client’s treatment (countertransference).

  • POTT emphasizes understanding the supervisee’s cultural, ethnic, or sexual identity and how it intersects with that of their client. This awareness fosters cultural humility and helps therapists avoid assumptions based on their own background, which can lead to more respect and ethical care.

  • POTT helps therapists recognize their vulnerabilities, empowering them to seek appropriate support and self-care, which aligns with ethical guidelines on managing personal well-being to prevent harm to clients.

  • POTT supports ethical client-centered care by enhancing therapists’ self-understanding and ability to engage effectively with clients.
