“That which is created in a relationship can be fixed in a relationship.”

-Murray Bowen

I am committed to building a strong therapeutic alliance with clients, fostering a safe, non-judgmental environment. This alliance is an ethical partnership that brings structure to our sessions through mutual respect, collaboration, and a stable, supportive space.

What does a Marriage and Family Therapist do?

A licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) is trained to understand people using systems theory; how our behavior patterns and personal choices are interconnected with our past and present relationships.  A LMFT can apply this method to individuals, couples, families, teens and children. Systems theory is effective in treating symptoms related to complex trauma, depression, anxiety, stress and relationship problems.

I am licensed in Pennsylvania and New York with over fifteens years of experience. I use an integrated approach combining several systemic models: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Imago Couples therapy, Narrative therapy, and Solution Focused Brief therapy. I would be happy to answer any questions regarding my method to help you understand how I would contribute to your journey.

  • Session are conducted one-on-one, via Zoom. In the first few sessions we will decide your therapy goals. My questions would explore your family background and current stressors. All of this is to help you better understand what shaped your coping style and identify your strengths to build on.

  • Sessions are with all partners via Zoom. The first session we will discuss your goals and blocks in communication. The second sessions will be one-on-one with each partner to get more information about personal experiences and family history. This could also include questions about sex in the relationship. After that we’ll all come back together to discuss the relationship patterns that could contribute or hinder transformations.

Since COVID, my practice is fully remote and I use a version of Zoom that is HIPPA compliant

Rates

The fee for a 60 minute session is $250. I am open to discussing a sliding scale in certain cases.

Insurance

I am currently on the panel for several insurance in New York: Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare and GHI. There could be plans under these insurances that may limit coverage. You can contact your insurance company to verify your benefits.

I am not on any insurance panels for Pennsylvania.

For all out-of-network services I can provide a superbill which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Reimbursement rates are based on your specific insurance plan. Contact your insurance company to verify your out-of-network benefits.

Medicare

I am opted-out of Medicare. While Medicare offers valuable access to care for many individuals, the constraints and financial implications of participating made opting out a more feasible choice for my practice to focus on personalized, flexible, and specialized care.

Cancellation

I understand that unplanned issues come up and I will gladly reschedule an appointment if notified 24 hours before your scheduled session. Cancellations made after the 24 hour cut off, or no shows, will be charged a $75 fee.
